There is a big difference between a sexual issue/challenge vs sexual dysfunction . whilst we may all have experienced a sexual challenge it does not mean it’s a dysfunction . if you have concerns or distress about a sexual matter that has been ongoing for at least 6 months, find a professional with sexual expertise to help.
When we asses female sexual function , these are the different areas we look out for:
FSFI domain – Description/concerns.
Desire – Wish to engage in a sexual experience, receptivity towards sexual initiation.
Arousal – Levels and types of arousal, signs of attention or excitement.
Lubrication – Presence, quantity or absence of vaginal lubrication during sexual excitement.
Orgasm – Ability to attain orgasms.
Satisfaction – Level of contentment with actual sexual life.
Pain – Sensation of discomfort during intercourse.
